raw cheesecake: matcha green tea with vanilla whipped topping

June 27, 2012 § 5 Comments

don’t let the raw food thing throw you. this recipe is delicious regardless of what food philosophy you subscribe to. i was having a major craving for green tea ice mochi cream, (i put away three boxes in one sitting while pregnant). clearly, oliver didn’t get the memo about how awesome these desserts are because he can’t tolerate dairy in his mama’s milk. so for the most part i’ve been abstaining from dairy (except of course to inhale the best chocolate chip cookie ever). this recipe originates from one of my favorite blogs, my new roots. thus far, i have made 3 versions of this recipe. it is so easy to make and the error margin is non existant. it’s a fantastic recipe to try out your culinary genius, let your flavor freak flag fly. you can build layer upon layer, the flavor combinations are endless.

summer squash & goat cheese quiche

this was my go to dinner to keep sunday a low maintenance day. i think it’s essential to have some recipes that can be tweaked to meet your cravings and whatever you have on hand. a quiche is the perfect vessel to accomplish just that. if you keep pie crust in the freezer it’s even easier (totally what i do). however, if you want to be a hero, go ahead and make your own. here are some good ones here, (full fat) here (a bit healthy) and here (gluten free).

***giveaway is closed***

so the cookie dough aged for a little over 24 hours. i broke down and i couldn’t wait anymore! of course, they were as you would expect, delicious. with all the ridiculous hype i’ve been creating around these cookies i thought i’d offer one lucky reader a fresh batch of these cookies delivered right to your door.

in the comment section tell me about your favorite cookie, favorite cookie memory or favorite recipe. i’ll pick a winner at random. you have until monday at 5pm est. for residents of the united states only. you will get a bakers dozen. because who wants a dozen when you can get a bakers dozen? am I right?

the. cookie.

a friend emailed me a cookie recipe posted on the blog for me, for you. after just a glance at the first photo, i knew i had to make them. not only are they gorgeous, but they have some serious ancestry too. this recipe originates from a new york times recipe that was adapted from a recipe by the famous jaques torres. enough said. there are a few unique things about this recipe that sets it apart from other chocolate chip recipes. first the use of cake flour and bread flour, second the resting of the dough for 36 hours and lastly the amount of chocolate, 1 ¼ POUNDS! (not gonna lie, i thought that was a typo, only until i ate the cookie and realized that was a blasphemous thought.)

Where Am I?
