i attempted to make this delicious pistachio pound cake. it tastes fantastic. needless to say it looks like ass. i knew as I was filling my loaf pan that it wasn’t going to work (i ignored the pan size measurements). oh well. lesson learned.

this weekend wasn’t all bad. there will be some goodies to come.

severin made me a little note so I don’t quit making food. he’ll starve.

  • Here’s a another lesson that I learned from Julia Child….if you’ve made a mistake in the kitchen, just don’t admit it to anyone unless they witnessed you making the error! Julia Child said that if something you cook doesn’t come out right, if you say nothing, and make no apologies, people will think that’s the way it is supposed to look! Of course it still has to taste good! No one ever need know you didn’t use the correct pan size….which you now know is as crucial to baking as is exact measurement of ingredients! Not much room for winging it with baking as there is with
    savory cooking!

  • Forgot to say that I think Severin is a very romantic husband. It must be in the French DNA!
